"In Stitches"

Embroidery exhibition - presented by the Embroiderers Guild of Western Australia

This exhibition features the work of the Guild’s Kallaroo, Greenwood & Dianella Groups & will include approximately 300
embroideries ranging from large quilts to the apron Grandma embroidered in the 1920s. All skill levels are represented from
beginner to advanced. A wide variety of embroidery techniques will be on display and there will be sumptuous examples of
stumpwork, a three dimensional embroidery originating in Elizabethan times and now given a modern twist, and goldwork
which is seen a lot in ecclesiastical vestments but has now become wonderfully decorative for its own sake. Items on
display include bags, boxes, cushions, tablecloths, runners, quilts, pictures and more.
